Carp Fishing
If your main reason for visiting us is to carp fish, you wont be disappointed. With your own very well stocked private lake with carp ranging up to 35lb your sure to enjoy everything Kingfisher Cabin and lake has to offer. Click here to see the fishing rules
Carp fishing on Kingfisher Lake, is exclusive to guests staying in Kingfisher Cabin. Your private lake and purpose built peg is located just 5 metres in front of your cabin, so if your fellow guest isn’t into fishing as much as you are they can either relax in the lounge whilst watching you fish, kick back in the hot tub or bask with a book in the sunshine on the outdoor sofa.
Kingfisher Lake is extremely well stocked with over 80 carp which include a 35lb and 30lb and a high percentage of 20’s!
Fly Fishing
We are extremely lucky to have the beautiful Long Eau chalk stream flowing all the way around the retreat and down past ‘The Hatchery’. Therefore Fly fishing for trout is available to all guests, you are also welcome to eat what you catch!
All guests staying on the Main Retreat are permitted to fly fish for Trout, however this must be done outside your own property, or on the stretches that are not populated as to be considerate to all guests privacy. If staying in ‘The Nest’ you have your very own private deck built out over a lovely wide stretch right on the dam where lots of trout enjoy to be, swimming against the current.
If staying in ‘The Hatchery’ you are right on the pretty Mill Pond and so can fish from your private garden, this is another great location with an abundance of trout waiting to be caught.
Fishery Management and Development
We are in fact fish farmers by trade with an extensive knowledge of fish supply, fishery management, lake creation and maintenance and all things water related.
